I feel great. I feel so great in fact that I decided to do this. The longest miles I've logged in a week is 50, this will be double. But, like the marathon, the 100 mile week has been my wish and dream for a long time. As a XC runner in college on the day before my very last race I realized that the only way I would have a chance at going to Nationals is if I have logged the miles that the other girls log, and that my friend is somewhere in that vicinity. Not the 45 milers that I was doing, hoping to make top 15 to qualify. Well, my career in college is long gone, but the dream to be a the best runner I can be is still there, and my 24th birthday is going to be the time to try it.
I am not sure if I can yet finish this, but I already did 40 so far, and I have 4 days to log 60. No problemo.
We get up, run, eat, sleep, read, run, eat, read and sleep. Oh and in between go see the Pacific ocean, day dream about a goat farm, lol, and take rides to San Francisco for some city life.
Oh, and my birthday was nice too. Ran on the beach, made a little video, walked around Santa Cruz, ate homemade sushi for dinner and delicious carrot cake, my favorite.
The next Feat of Endurance is to do the Ironman. Just like that, no half, no olympic distace, the whole Ironman. In a year. With a road bike. And maybe lose some weight along the way, maybe drop back to 138? I wish, man it's haaard.
