Ahh, we have relocated to San Francisco! At last all the the planning and contemplating has seized. As we speak I am sitting in our Embarcadero Gateway town home, in the empty nursery, updating my life's adventures.
The move has been easier on me than on Sam because I mostly just worked at the hospital till the last moment, while he did all of the planning. We didn't even have to pack very much because we hired movers to do that for us, and the best decision ever. We've moved so many times together, and who knew that the cross country move is going to be easier than a move from the dorms to a one bedroom sublet in Inwood? Good times.
Before I left the lovely nurses of 6GN threw me a baby shower. I loved it, I never quite felt so special before. It's like the best birthday ever only better because it's for your little one at the same time. A celebration of new life. Ahh, can't wait for baby Kai to be here already.
The plane ride was not too bad either, we got lucky and had an empty seat in our row, so I was able to lie down and sleep for like 3 hours. I really needed it since we got up at 3 am.
Once we got here it's been sort of surreal. For one, Embarcadero is no Washington Heights, and two, I don't work anymore. Feels crazy, so I've been enjoying my free time. There is still plenty to do, but at least it's what I want to do, and when I want to do it. And the best part, I can nap!
The baby registry stuff has been going quite well. I found a lot of really good stuff on Amazon, and deleted most of my other registries because Amazon has a really great return policy. So if I don't use those unopened boxes of diapers, I can return them within a year! Awesome.
My favorite thing to do here so far has been swimming in the outdoor pool, and shopping for maternity clothes at Old navy, they're the best. Really.
And of course today is/was my birthday. It was really fun. I mean for one I got the best present ever, and that's moving to California. As for the rest of the day, Sam surprised me with coming home early from work. We went to the Bay Club together, I swam and he did the eliptical. Then we got a really healthy salad for lunch at Whole Foods upon my request, then a nice nap, and for dinner the Cliff House. Ahh, so amazing. Lots of light and the food was really good too. I got my candle and a wish, and what else do you need.
